Excel templates for SEC reporting teams
Nine SEC reporting workpapers that roll forward when you change one cell.
White-label Excel templates for the filing calendar, 8-K triggers, comment letters, review sign-off, and workpapers for cash flows, equity, non-GAAP and account support. Change the period end on the Setup tab and headers, comparatives and deadlines update. No branding, no macros, built from public SEC rules.
What you get
Nine Excel templates
Five that run the filing (calendar, delta tracker, 8-K log, comment letters, sign-off) and four workpapers on one shared framework (account/footnote, cash flows, equity, non-GAAP).
Browse templates →Optional: the Playbook
How to use the templates and run the close-to-file process: deadlines, 8-K triggers, SOX and disclosure committee, auditors, comment letters, XBRL. Chapters delivered as released, with free updates.
Chapter list and sample →White-label by design
No branding on working tabs. Your company name goes on every title, so the workpapers look like your own files when auditors see them. No macros.
Roll forward by changing one cell
Every workbook has the same Setup tab: company name, period end and fiscal year-end month. Change the period end and the workbook works out the rest.
- Save last period's file and open a copy.
- Change Period end on the Setup tab (e.g. 9/30/26 → 12/31/26).
- Report type (10-K or 10-Q), quarter label, "Nine months ended" vs "Year ended" headers, comparative dates and deadlines update.
- Entries left over from the old period are flagged STALE, so nothing carries forward unnoticed.
More workbooks coming as free updates for buyers: EPS, income tax provision, debt and leases. Tested at 9/30/26, 12/31/26 and 3/31/27. 52/53-week fiscal years: the Setup tab warns you to confirm the report-type detection.

The Setup tab from the Close-to-File Filing Calendar.
The templates
Close-to-File Filing Calendar
Turns one period-end date and your Rule 12b-2 filer status into the right report (10-K or 10-Q), the holiday-adjusted statutory due date, and a dated close-to-file milestone timeline.
See the template →WP: Account / Footnote Support
The general workpaper for any balance-sheet account or footnote without a purpose-built workbook: detail support with a source, source type and tickmark for every number, a rollforward, and a TB → face of FS → footnote → MD&A bridge with control checks.
See the template →Disclosure Checklist Delta Tracker
Captures what changed since the last filing – new ASUs, SEC final and proposed rules, staff guidance, PCAOB items and comment-letter commitments – with applicability, owner, due date and status.
See the template →8-K Trigger Assessment Log
One running log of every event that might require a Form 8-K: the conclusion (file, furnish, not required, monitoring), the four-business-day default deadline with an override for items on a different clock, and whether it was filed on time.
See the template →Comment Letter Response Tracker
Runs an SEC staff comment letter from receipt to review-complete: an owner and draft due date for every comment, future-filing commitments in plain words, and the estimated earliest EDGAR release date.
See the template →Review & Workpaper Sign-off
Two views of "is this filing ready?": a Matrix showing which reviewers have signed off on each section of the 10-K or 10-Q, and a Workpaper QC tab that checks each workpaper against ten quality checks.
See the template →WP: Statement of Cash Flows
Builds and proves the indirect-method statement of cash flows: every balance-sheet change is explained by cash-flow lines or documented non-cash items, and cash plus restricted cash ties to the balance sheet.
See the template →WP: Stockholders' Equity Rollforward
Rolls forward each equity component – shares, common stock & APIC, retained earnings, AOCI by component, treasury stock and noncontrolling interests – by quarter, so 10-Q interim subtotals are ready, and ties the result to the rest of the filing.
See the template →WP: Non-GAAP Reconciliation
One place for every non-GAAP measure used in the earnings release and the filing: the reconciliation to the most directly comparable GAAP measure, ties to both documents, and Regulation G / Item 10(e) / C&DI prompts.
